Would you like to understand the regulations governing pharmaceuticals—and what they mean in practice? If so, an AMU course might be right for you.
You’ll get an introduction to legislation, documentation, microbiology, and behavior. This will help you understand why the processes are structured the way they are.
The AMU courses are designed for skilled and unskilled workers who are employed in or seeking employment in the life sciences industry.
This means you can participate without having any prior education.
If you are a skilled worker with a qualification equivalent to a vocational education—such as practical training as a carpenter or electrician—you are also eligible to participate.

Practical Information
An AMU course costs 218 DKK per day, excluding VAT, if you are in the AMU target group (participants in jobs requiring vocational training or unskilled workers).
If you are unemployed, talk to your unemployment insurance fund or job center about covering the cost of your participation in AMU courses.
You can apply for VEU reimbursement and transportation subsidies at voksenuddannelse.dk. You can also find more information at veug.dk.
At Pharmakon, breakfast is always included, and we provide a mid-morning snack and afternoon cake. Lunch is available for purchase, or you can bring a packed lunch and store it in our refrigerator to keep it fresh all day.
If you live more than 60 km from Pharmakon, you may be eligible for financial assistance to cover the cost of lodging and meals at Pharmakon. Please contact us if this applies to you.
AMU quality
At amukvalitet.dk, you can find Pharmakon’s evaluation results for its AMU courses. Here, you’ll gain insight into course outcomes, instructor performance, and course format and content. Cancellation or withdrawal
If there are not enough registrations, we may have to cancel the course. In that case, you will be offered a spot in the next class.
Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
It is important to cancel your registration if you are unable to attend. Cancellations must be made by phone or in writing as soon as possible so that your spot can be offered to someone else.
Please note the following:
- If you cancel less than one week before the first day of the course, your employer will pay 1,500 DKK for courses with an estimated duration of up to 37 hours and 2,500 DKK for courses with an estimated duration of more than 37 hours.
- If you do not show up on the first day of the training program, your employer will pay 2,500 DKK for programs with an estimated duration of up to 37 hours and 3,500 DKK for programs with an estimated duration of more than 37 hours.
If your employer can prove that your absence or resignation was due to a valid reason, they are exempt from payment.
Survey of the Learning Environment for AMU
In 2025, we distributed a survey to two different AMU classes. There were 29 participants in one class and 27 participants in the other.
We received 27 responses.
The study covered:
- Physical learning environment
- Psychological learning environment
- Aesthetic learning environment
- General questions.
The two teams were selected based on the following criteria:
- The participants were from various companies.
- The courses lasted five days, so participants could draw on their extensive experience.
- The courses were identical, so any differences in academic content did not affect the results.
Action Plans
In general, all responses are positive or neutral and do not require any action.
However, two participants mentioned dissatisfaction with the seating comfort. We are continuously evaluating ways to improve seating comfort, taking into account that participants vary greatly in height.
